Lots of good options! What excellent timing, I just got my nice little Swedish blade from Ivo and was wondering about a box. The thread where oldblades introduces his boxes is http://straightrazorpalace.com/showthread.php?t=16852
(and he includes tang and butt holders, heh heh heh )
And one more thing I just found, for travel-- a leather one-razor case by Dovo from Classic Razors

Slick, no?

I've also heard that Tony M might be in the works of producing a prototype barbers box which he will use to gander if its worthwhile.

Question:
If you guys could design your dream box, what would it look like? I may be able to come up with something for a very fair price. It might take a little while, considering how CRAZY BUSY I am with work/school/wife & baby/moving into new house.
EDIT: I just noticed Chady's post above...sorry! Not trying to take anything away from Tony. I'm sure he could come up with a better box anyway!

@ cwrighta70
It was just something TM mentioned over on B&B in a similar post I had made. He said it would be somewhat like what barbers used in times past. But it was a prototype they were working on to see if it would be feasible from a commercial standpoint. So might not at all come into play.
I don't think he or anyone else wants less handcrafted products out there on the market, I know I don't.
So please don't, abstain from trying or at least contemplating because of that.
Your design might be what people want.
So if, with time, you make a box at one point please share pictures . Most people here I suspect have use for more than 1 box anyway.
I just wanted to add that barbers boxes seem to be ones where the razors are stored vertically. Which the window display people might not want, thats the only design I've found for them sofar anyhoo.Last edited by Chady; 03-08-2008 at 09:57 PM.

My dream box (actually a display case) would have the following features:
Hang on the wall,
Have a tempered glass or plexiglas front for display,
Have a lock to keep curious hands / fingers away from the razors,
Display my razors on pegs with razors open to show off the blades,
Have a hidden compartment that is open to hold dessicant,
Play "Hail to the Chief" every time I open the door to select a new razor to use
