I think I am getting a Semogue soon. But I do love my Omega.
As for preference, I like banded. As far as I know it doesn't make a bit of difference performance wise, but I like the look more.

Boar are great value and a delight to use. In comparison, badger are poor value but even more delightful to use and look at.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
I never thought this would happen. However, my semogue 2000 is now softer than my badger brushes by a wide margin.
Cheers!
GO BOAR!

Got my Semogue today. I'm not sure what the number is since it was a gift from my friend Greg (Olafurson), who continues to surprise me with his extreme generosity. I won't be using it until Wednesday likely, and I've been told that they take quite a long time to break in, so who knows how round one will go.
I'm breaking in an Omega right now too, so it might take extra long.

Just ordered my Semogue 2000; I guess I'll be joining that owners club soon and can't wait to try it out

I did. It is a 1502 or 1520 or whatever.
But I ruined the handle, so now I just have a fancy knot.
Need help.
