It's no Omega, but I have a The Body Shop synthetic brush and it has performed just fine for me. I've used it for both bowl and face lathering and it hasn't let me down. I just wish it fanned a little easier while using it.

The Omega Syntex will fan after a couple of weeks' use.

Am I the only one who finds boar brushes are actually "softer" than badger brushes? When the bristles are dry, a boar brush feels like a broom, but when wet, my Semogue 830 is much softer than my Shavemac Finest and my New Forest 2 band.
I agree, the 830 is softer than a lot of badger brushes

I used to prefer boar over badger, but then got a Shavemac D01 2-band and also a Rooney finest. They are really expensive brushes though and even though I prefer them now over boar, I still use my boars (semogue) pretty frequently.

For best bang for your buck it is really hard to beat boar brushes. I like all my brushes and appreciate each one for what they offer.
