I also own the NYSC synthetic brush. You will really enjoy the synths by Frank Shaving--they are very good. One new entry into the synthetic marketplace that is worth noting is the new Kent Infinity Silvertex. It is very nicely constructed, and the quality is what you'd expect from Kent. At $30, it has an excellent price point, although it's on the smaller side at around 20mm.
Of course the best synthetic brushes currently made are the Muhle V2 series of brushes. They truly stand out of the crowd. Their inexpensive 21mm HJM Black Fibre brushes have decent backbone, and among the softest tips available anywhere.Jim S.

Thanked: 3I was using a synth for the first few months of cutthroatery, then switched to the mini-badger I got from an AOS kit I bought while waiting for my wife as she was at the Mac cosmetics counter. I'm all in on the badger, man. I didn't like the feel or lathering ability of the synth. Maybe it was the brand. I'd been using the brush from the VDH kit. I'm upgrading to a full size badger as soon as the budget permits. Now, if you'll excuse me, I got a bit of ebaying to do. Excelsior!

I am fan of Badgers too but you must taste the Muhle Black Fibre feeling
It's not so expensive and differs from other Synthetics.

Thanked: 3223Earlier on in this thread I posted of a very bad experience I had with the synthetic brush sold by The Body Shop and that put me off synthetics for awhile. Too many people kept posting of the good experiences they have had with synthetics so I eventually decided to try a Muhle silver tip synthetic brush. All I can say is I am glad I did, it works as well as any of my boar or badger brushes with any cream or hard soap I have. Night and day difference between the brush sold by TBS and the Muhle made one. The Muhle is a very good performer.

Just got this synthetic that Larry sent me today. The tips are pretty soft. Good backbone. A bit springy.
Not a bad brush, but not amazing either. It was free so can't complain! A decent addition to the collection, adds some variety to the mix.
