Thanked: 13249There is still hope in America today
Colorado proved last night that the Citizens of this nation can take their Government back
Two State Senators were sent packing because they failed to listen to their Constituents, in fact were specifically told not to listen to the people... I would not be surprised at all to see the Colorado Governor in the cross hairs next even though he tried to distance himself as far as possible from this ....
Way to go Colorado
(Note I stayed away from Banned discussion with this)

Yeah, I was just reading about that.
There's all kinds of spin from the losing side, but I hope this at least gives pause to any elected official who decides not to listen to what their constituents have to say."Willpower and Dedication are good words," Roland remarked, "There's a bad one, though, that means the same thing. That one is Obsession." -Roland Deschain of Gilead

Thanked: 13249Reading the Huff Post article from 10pm last night as it progressed through this morning as they edited it to add the spin was freaking hilarious, they actually started out last night with the most accurate story and it still is when you look at the numbers, but the way they put it through the spin cycle was fun to watch over the last 12 hours

HAHA!! I was actually reading the HuffPo article, though I didn't see the earlier versions!
I guess the spin was just that obvious..."Willpower and Dedication are good words," Roland remarked, "There's a bad one, though, that means the same thing. That one is Obsession." -Roland Deschain of Gilead

Thanked: 734There may be some traction on that as well. Don't take this post to be pro-union on my behalf (I'm not). But there seems to be some grumbling among the unions these days as it relates to their political allies. They stood by the President in the elections but they are not happy with what they have gotten so far.
“To say that we are going to grow this labor movement by some kind of formal partnership, membership, status, place in this federation, I am against. This is the American Federation of Labor. We are supposed to be representing workers and workers’ interests,” Mr. Schaitberger said in The Hill. “We are not going to be the American Federation of Progressive and Liberal Organizations.”

Thanked: 13249Yep last night on FB I was actually quoting it as they had the most accurate Financial backing numbers without any spin, but by this morning it was full of conjecture and innuendo and the facts were pushed farther and farther back hehehe I would not be surprised to see the 3M vs 540k erased completely soon, they already pulled the blurb that was in the middle from last night... I have it saved on FB

Thanked: 13249I posted this at about 12 midnight last night, it was a highlighted section in the Huff Post article I couldn't believe it was there so I saved it
Even the Article title was changed since last night.. it was
Colorado Recall Results: Democratic State Senators Defeated in Recall Election
"Recall opponents, floating on oceans of money funneled into the recall contests by billionaire New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, outspent recall backers by a whopping 7 to 1 margin.
The fact that turnout numbers suggest such a competitive race given the anti-recall side’s jaw-dropping financial advantage is frankly, astounding. And the fact that so much of the money comes from out of state – the Denver Post recently reported that Bloomberg and California philanthropist Eli Broad personally stroked six figure checks – suggests that liberal elites from thousands of miles away think they can buy Colorado’s elections."Last edited by gssixgun; 09-11-2013 at 04:35 PM.
