Thanked: 734Leadership. You're talking about a lack of leadership. Isn't this Bush's fault? And just where the HELL is he anyway? What has my so amused is listening to the crickets on the far left as the war drums beat. Where is Danny Glover, Susan Seranden (sp?), Sean Penn, Martin Sheen, the Dixie Chicks, and all the other anti-war-Hollywood-left that made so many bold statements about Bush and this warmongering? The left in this country is not anti-war. They just want to be in control of the wars.

Thanked: 13249Ed Asner answered that question
The answer he gave about the far left being more afraid of being painted as Racist, then their anti-war convictions was probably the most racist statement ever made on national TV..
Think about that for a minute before you tell me I am wrong..
The simple fact that a person would not speak their mind because they might be called a racist is in fact the most racist thing I have ever heard...

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to see the situation diffusing itself through a possible "surrender" of these weapons. But dear Lord is/was this an awkward, sloppy, indecisive, disorganized mess. As uncomfortable as it has been to watch, I can only estimate that it would be severely worse if military action went through. I hope this means that we are seeing the balloon lose its air.

I dunno... while you might be spot on the money, I see it as more of a two edged sword- If any of the Hollyweird leftists, or any leftist for that matter, were considering speaking out now that people are noticing they're not, this statement almost shames them back into silence. It comes across to me as a very tongue-in-cheek way to say that if you do speak out, you hate the President because he's black. It's not a defense... it's an offense.

Thought I'd chime in before the thread gets shut down. The quote, "All that is necessary for evil to triumph, is that good men do nothing" comes to mind. Should we interfere? Mind our own business? We didn't interfere in the affairs of Germany until their allie bombed us (though our participation was most likely, inevitable). Some six million Jews would probably have preferred that someone interfere earlier. If we've learned anything from history, we should know that tyrants don't stop until someone stops them.

Thanked: 734The assumption that you hate the President because he's part black has been a left point of view from the beginning. I've always said that race should NEVER enter into the debate of this president since its THE VERY LAST thing that should ever matter. No, the population elected THE MOST liberal candidate available. It should be no surprise that his policies stand in contrast to so many of us. Race gets dragged into it so the subject of debate can be changed. It plays right into the Saul Alinsky handbook, play by play.

I enjoed Charley Rose' interview with the bad guy leader. I can't wipe the grin off my face from hearing that Putin, of all people on this earth, had tossed Obama the potential solution that might leave the prez with the smallest chance of not making his entire red line gambit failure bury us deeper yet in the nightmare that is the middle east. And as it has been mentioned we are now spinning the redline threat back somewhere in time by someone or some other world or country and on and on and on.
