Sorry Mick but ya got a little off there, I am asking a simple question and you are answering by agreeing with me
I don't think we should be involved, BUT if we do need to go into anywhere then why would we without a prize ???? Your words here "Why should you help anyone? Well, historically the US never has helped anyone, unless there has been something to gain from it for themselves"
Again, why should we ???Last edited by gssixgun; 09-04-2013 at 02:08 PM.

Thanked: 1936I've been staying out of this for the biggest part and return a day later and there are 4 more pages of opinions, a rather interesting read.
I have a for the wonderful minds of SRP: If I have a skin cancer, a "surgical team" removes the cancer & a bit more just to be sure, right. I wouldn't want to or need to go through a full round or two of chemo right. Here we are all talking about strikes, policing, something that could end up a long journey & a lot of soldiers dead. If something is done, it should be done in the blink of an eye, leaving everyone wondering...what happened? Most of the special forces around the world are under-used, they train and train for surgical missions. Why can't we just wake up tomorrow to "Where did all the bad guys in Syria go?"Southeastern Oklahoma/Northeastern Texas helper. Please don't hesitate to contact me.
Thank you and God Bless, Scott

Despite the high cost of living, it's still very popular.

Thanked: 734Does this sound like a leader to you?
“I didn’t set a red line, the world set a red line,” Obama said. “My credibility’s not on the line. The international community’s credibility is on the line. And America and Congress’s credibility’s on the line."
Obama: I didn’t draw the red line on Syria, world did | McClatchy
Do you believe this guy? Where is the leadership of the PRESIDENT? The way he puts it, this whole business is not his doing. Its the doings of the American people and Congress. He sounds like he is being reluctantly dragged into a situation he'd rather not be involved in and wouldn't be if it weren't for the damn international community, the American people, and Congress.

I understand that you don't like the guy, but you're really trying too hard to twist something obvious into something that it isn't.
Chemical Weapons Convention - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The world didn't use to be what it is today - every country felt rape and pillage is their unalienable right every time they could afford it. But at some point most powers that be agreed that that's not going to be the preferred way of doing business anymore, so there's all kinds of agreements of how countries ought to conduct. The problem is that the evaluation and enforcement mechanisms are not very good, so those with the power to do so pick and chose according to their interests.
And if you think US does not have interest in bombing Syria, just wait another week or few and watch the politics of it unfold - not all lobbies are created equal, and the more powerful ones are on the side of bombing.

I don't think there is one person here saying that using CW's was a good thing, the entire civilized world has denounced it...
but pretty much the entire world has backed away from using their Military to stop it
whoops: At this point in time
Oh, and Yes Obummer is doing the Chicago Tap Dance on this, he said it, he got called on it, and now he wants to change it, anyway he can..Last edited by gssixgun; 09-04-2013 at 06:42 PM.
