I guess every people of every county of the world should have the right to say that they are living in the best country there is. But at the moment you start to think that you are somewhat better than some other country you are going deeply wrong. Believe me, i've worked in countries that were ranked to be worse. Still majority of people were happy for their lives.
When seeing texts like USA/Finland/whatever is the best country/home of the free there is (lol) i always get concerned. Imho there's always something to learn from different nations. There is no freedom but society will always make the rules for you. What is absolute freedom? Free from human relationships? Free from personal responsibility?
No country in the world cannot get along without having a conversation with others. That is how cultures change, little by littla. As we take members from new unseen cultures it's just not expecting them to change but little by little they change our culture too. That is how it's always been.Last edited by Sailor; 10-01-2013 at 07:59 PM.

I read through the first few pages of this post and i have nearly 100 replies in my head, hehe.
As an American, I for one, have become "terribly" discouraged by the path our country has taken in the past few years. I detest talking politics but i feel that it has become our greatest evil. My ideas do not come from one party or the other but I feel that we are being manipulated in an adverse way by powerful figures not only in this country but throughout the world. We vote who we want to make decisions in government but far too many of our votes are bought in one way or another before they are ever cast in an election. The trust is gone.
I often try to put myself in the eyes of those who look at us (Americans) from afar. More and more i do not like what i see. If you are able to get down to the grass roots and look at individuals and individual areas many if not most of our citizens, groups, classes are great people living good and upstanding lives.
Mainstream media far too often does a terrible disservice to all of us.
I'm going to stop here before this becomes a rant that i'll be sorry for later. The value and interest of life is not so much to do conspicuous things.........as to do ordinary things with the perception of their enormous value.

I'll guess a weak constitution if this makes you a little sick. As for being against the very fabric of what it means to be American...... All I see are groups of students and parents exercising their god given rights as Americans to express their feelings in a way they see fit. I don't see anyone being forced to participate. Looks exactly like freedom of expression which I assume you would support. Do you mind advising who exactly gave your President the name Oba'Me? Not sure who you're referring too.
Keep your concentration high and your angles low!
Despite the high cost of living, it's still very popular.

You know its funny that an isolated indecent that occurred in 2009 such as this; one that wasn't even a part of any "grand scheme" by any one group such as the board of education, or even under direction from the presidents office gives rise to so much disdain for a man and a party that had nothing to do with it. LOL!!
This indecent had nothing to do with Obama or his office... or even the board of education. It was a rouge school!! That's it!
How does this turn into a grand scheme of some kind?
There are a million reasons to have disdain for the current president and his party but this... well this is not one of them. Move onto something more tangible!
I mean for sure it was awful and like Glen says... it makes me puke a little. But seriously, it was an isolated indecent that occurred in 2009! Hate the school's principal - sure. Lingering on the topic and continuing to blame the left 4 years later, is kind of spooky.

But then I guess I am one to talk - I still blame Bush for bringing the American economy to its knees and putting American's in harms way for weapons of mass destruction that didn't exist. But then at least I can trace it back to both him and his office lol-
