If I was a barber I would have at least 2 razors that were identical in my drawer. When my customer had his face covered by a towel and hopefully others were watching I would grab the dull one out of the drawer and make a production out of loud fast stropping motions with no danger to myself or my strop. Afterwards would replace it in the drawer and remove the towel relather etc. Then get the sharp one out of the drawer and proceed to shave my customer.

I second that on the messier part

Too wet a lather causes messy face-lathering. An observation!

I'm not sure that I could recite the alphabet backwards even if I were sober.

I can, I taught myself to do it after a school excursion to a victorian schoolroom and the teacher told me of for not being able to do it.

Gossip and barbershops seem to go way back.

One such barbershop in Athens claimed infamy during the Peloponnesian War when a stranger sat down and casually described the fate of the Sicilian Expedition to the amazed customers, assuming people already knew.

The barber dashed off to raise the alarm and was even tortured at first by officials until his story was confirmed by the official messengers....

If 2 chickens can lay 3 eggs in 4 days, How long does it take a donkey to kick the seeds out of a watermelon?
