we are on the same page my friend. your scuttle does not appear to have a stopper, the cap that I mentioned (nice scuttle by the way). so do you use it just to build lather? what about soaking the brush?

My friend, your scuttle is quite like mine and what I do is fill the scuttle and place it in the microwave for about 90 seconds to 2 minutes. Then I warm the water for my brush in a common coffee cup. I then soak the brush and strop my razor.

I typically 'Face Later' at least to get started.

'IF' I want really hot lather I then place the brush in the bowl of the scuttle. Then I shake it off and load the shaving soap on it and lather up.

I then replace the brush in the bowl of the scuttle.

To be Totally Honest/most of the time the scuttle keeps the lather Too HOT! So I always take care.

Again I hope this has been of some help.

this is funny, now I'm really confused. because I almost do the exact same and cannot get anywhere near "Too Hot" I'll have to continue this conversation tomorrow and/or if you don't mind we can do this through PM, because we are not suppose to be on topic.

I need to go back to work now to coat my microfluidic chambers.

    There, that should do it.

At archery league tonight a friend mentioned that he had a kit for making Falcon Bells and he thought I of the people he knew might be interested... I said that I thought that was pretty cool but the chances of me getting a Falcon was pretty slim!

Now my mind is wandering falcon bells.....

Well you could always have fiskeboller (Fish Balls)

I've never had any success making them from scratch but the 'loaf' Fiskgrot is always very good.

There was a father son construction team working on a remodel at my workplace and they were of Norwegian decent and I brought them Fishgrot and they both were thrilled! In fact the father said it had the best cream sauce he'd ever had and wanted my recipe.
