Thanks, Maybe now I will remember that the HAM is due around Thanksgiving! In 10 years......
My phone quit today and I am mad now at cell phones. My last phone cost me $19.95 and lasted at least 5 years. I should look it up.
These huge new phones are a pain in the rear to carry and cost a fortune.
I need to find an unlocked phone under $50 that I don't need a purse to carry it in.
This project may take a while.

I like flip phones and very seldom desire more. The flip mechanism can wear out.
It is hard to find anything not big.
Remember when it was a big deal to make things smaller? What happened to that. If I want anything big I can carry my laptop etc. around.
Don't get me going on planned obsolescent.
I am not going to send a rocket to the moon any time soon and if I do I can sit in my library and do it. I just want a phone!

Well talk to Roy about his offer, as it was first.
If its a no go , then you can have one of my old phones. I took one off line 4 weeks ago & replaced it with a iPad. It was a flip, had it on line for 4 years, only made about 6 calls with it. Used it as an alarm clock.

I dont care how nice you are, I'm not letting you put pineapple on me!
After 2 years inactive they pull the call sign and can give it to someone else. I'm not sure what the rule is if you let it expire. Maybe have to take the Extra test to get your General again. That would teach ya. Ha.It's just Sharpening, right?

Thanks guys!
I am venting at the moment and will consider it.
I have now a new small sim card that is 4 whatever now. $25 It won't work in an unlocked phone.
They laughed when my old card had a football pattern....
This is probably old news to you guys but I learned much today. How to cut a sim card etc.
Needless to say I won't answer my phone for a bit at least my personal one.
OMG I might have to take the map out if I get lost driving!
I have at lest 4 states in the door of my truck and that is because I cleaned it recently.........

I like my big phone. I can SEE IT! Fits in my back pocket, does everything (well almost) that I do on my home computer. Keeps me in touch with dispatch, the wife and keeps me going in the right direction. I have gone without it for a few days just as a test to see if I was going to loose my mind without it and I passed the test. But it sure comes in handy!
Now if it was bigger I couldn't put it in a pocket any more. Ha.It's just Sharpening, right?

That's funny Tim how things go round, my first phone in the 70,s was a huge Nokia about 2#s, and you had to say over so the switchboard could change talkers. Then a series f bag phones, which I still believe we're better than anything so far. Then the Motorola Startac, flip and was so small you couldn't hardly work the buttons. Then for years it got bigger, then the iPhone came out with the 6 plus it wasn't much smaller than my iPad, before too long all phones will need a bag to carry them again. I hate phones, and when I retire for real, we are not going to have 2 phones. I'm not sure what I,m doing about when I ride, but I am connected with my iPad, it has text and Internet, so infuses I could text someone when needing assistance. Tc

I ended up getting an unlocked "smart" phone.
We will see if this works. $69 USD. I can afford to sit on that. I didn't get the extended warranty for $20.
