I left for work this morning before the sun rose, it was dark.

I looked out my back door just now and although is "dark" now there is a fresh coating of snow.

    The world is much brighter!

It might be 'Brighter' but it's also COLDER! Bah Humbug. I'd rather sweat than freeze any day. Name: winter-cold-smiley-emoticon.gif

This summer I landed in Redding CA at 4pm and it was 104 degs and while I was hot and sweaty I didn't mind, once in the motel and a shower followed by a few cold beers life was good.

The next morning I rode out at 5am and headed over the mountains to visit a dying friend in NV. I was well over 5 thousand feet and I thought I was going to freeze. I kept stopping and removing my unlined leather gloves and kept the motor running so I could warm my hands. Hell I could see my breath and I swear that if any moisture would have fallen from the skies it would have been snow.

Later that day I rode across the NV desert to Bishop CA and it had to be 110+. Again once at the motel life was good.

That ride in the cold was a BEACH! I didn't mind the ride through the desert at all. Guess that being an August Born Baby 'might' be part of it.

With all of this said, I'm glad that you enjoy the cold.

I have teased many of my friends that they don't want to ride colder than their age.... In Fahrenheit!

It's not just riding--I've always hated the cold. When I was a kid--Sledding was fun for about the first trip down the hill then I'd start getting cold and I was DONE!

The first year I was forced to live here in the Boars Nest my air conditioner went out. I immediately notified my landlord and he ordered a new one.

I was without air conditioning the last two weeks of July and the first week of August (the hottest time of year here). I couldn't leave the windows open while I was at work as the thieving bastards would steal me blind. I'd come home and it might be 120 degs inside. I'd open the windows, turn on a fan and soon things were good.

I'd rather do that then come home in the winter to find that I had no heat and the place was 36 degs and no way to warm it up.

A pro yes, a lock only stops an honest person.

Or the weather, a kid that doesn't have enough sense to wear a coat and gloves.

That is not the style...T-shirt and jeans around here to 10F then..add a scarf. NOt just one kid, all of them on the street. Out yesterday for lunch at 33F, three blocks from the high school. thirty kids all undressed in less than I would consider for a damp basement. Shorts on the chicks and gangsta' pants on the guys. Oh yeah, they have to hold the business's door open so they can holler back and forth.
The crazy thing to me is that in MN, sixty years ago, they stopped allowing kids to leave the school buildings during breaks or lunch periods.

I remember seeing a video about some scientists living in the Antarctic. When it got up to 0 degrees they were outside playing football in short sleeves! I Guess your body adapts to the temp to a certain extent. Me, i hate the cold though it didn't bother me as much as a kid. Seems less enjoyable as i get older.
