Never waste nourishment. I BBQ'd it whole on the grill with a single drop of BBQ sauce. Yummy!

On a whim I purchased a Bug A Salt gun. It's an air shotgun that uses common table salt to Blast Flies and Other Bugs.

I just bagged my first kill earlier today and I just had to post for bragging rights.

Don't get me wrong as I won't attempt to shoot them out of the air so I just 'Ground Sluice' 'em

I got another kill later on today. It's actually quite fun!
Does it scratch surfaces? Could you use sand?

As far as scratching surfaces, it doesn't seem to. While it has enough force for the table salt to hit and kill a fly within a 3 foot distance/I used myself as a human Guinea pig and held the weapon as far as I could from the opposite hand and gave it a shot of salt. It did have some 'sting' to it but not painful. Please remember that this is a kind of a 'BB Gun' that uses salt and that there is only a single pump to provide the air to shoot the salt out.

About the sand/NO I don't think that would work.

Not speaking from experience but I don't see why not if the sand was of similar size to the salt.

You could maybe use SIC. What grit........

Probably because sand is overkill for the fly, sand is heavier, it would be like shooting him with a .45.
Where as salt is more like a 9mm , more humane.

    ,,,,,,,I just made that up

While I can't find the direct quote the manufacturers/sellers have said that you Must Use a Quality Table Salt. Whatever 'Quality Table Salt' is
