Brazil got where they are now by the skin of their teeth. They are now getting the ass kicking of the century. Germany can meet the Netherlands in the finals. If that happens, police in the borderlands will probably cancel all leave and prepare for riots.

As for the Dutch... The match against Costa Rica was a fine example of non-soccer. Van Gaal's goalie change was a stroke of genius. The way Krul conducted himself was a topic of discussion around here. On the one hand, it's not fair play. Otoh, the penalty shot phase is pure psychological warfare between the kicker and the goalie. And from that pov, he got in each of the kickers' heads, and picked the correct corner 5 times.

A lot harder to win this game then I initially thought. Very nice game, very nice team, no vanity, no tattoos, and incredible way to play footbal, although today they were very nervous.
