Years ago I remember watching a documentary on wildlife that'll kill ya in Australia. Made me glad I live where all we have a rattlers, water moccasins, copperheads, black widows, and the brown recluse.
In Oz there were poisonous sea snakes and land snakes that will chase you! Black mamba IIRC ? Our snakes won't bother you if you don't bother them.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

My mate and I had a snake swim across a creek at us once while we were fishing. Aggressive thing... We just bailed!
Interestingly the funnel web is only toxic to primates (which it evolved in the absence of) and mice. It's also very old evolution-wise. Apparently it's downward fangs (rather than pincer like fangs eg wolf-spider or black widow) are indicative of its old "design". Seems things in Australia hit the top of the food chain fast and stayed there. This place is full of apex predators.
And yes, the Chaplain thinks we arrived here via evolution. But that's another thread...
Taipan and Brown Snakes Jimmy^^ Black Mambas are African but I have heard they are very aggressive and will chase you too.Last edited by andrewmurray86; 11-28-2015 at 08:46 PM. Reason: Snakes on a rampage
