Had one like the spider case,, mine was a raccoon,, two young men lured a racoon in through the kitchen door buy leaving a trail of eggs. The raccoon ate the eggs & settled on their bed to sleep the night away. They found that action "so cute", their words,,,, so they tried to pet it & cover it with a blanket. The raccoon tore the arm up of the pet'r & chased them both out of the apartment. It took 4 cops & 5 firemen on a rescue unit to get the fury little guy out. I finally got a catch pole around its neck & the fight was on. Finally got it into a dog kennel at the station ,,,, before the wild life officer got there in the morning, it had pulled the steel wire apart & escaped.
The guy with the cut up arm had to go through a series of rabies shots,,,,,

Racoons are nasty little buggers.
Had one as a kid to train the coondogs.
He too pulled apart the wire cage we had it in.
Boy did I HATE feeding that thing... was glad it got out!

this one was probably a good 35-40 pounds,, strong as h*ll,,, the catch pole had no locking mechanism on it ,, so I had to hold the line tight for 2 miles as he flipped & fought on the rear deck of a rescue truck,, I felt sorry for him, as I love animals, but I knew he would hurt me if he got off.
I'm glad he escaped before the wild life officer came.

They do look like little cute animals.
Let me tell you when they are cornered they turn into the creature from h e l l !
The growl will make a grown man take pause... Now imagine an 11yr.old kid having to clean the cage and feed and water that little tazaminian devil.. YIKES!

It's a good thing spiders aren't the size of say, a Pekinese, or we would all be screaming.
It's a good time to smile over a police story. Things have been a bit unbalanced lately."Call me Ishmael"

Thanked: 1587What makes that story worse is that it is northern Sydney. Living in Australia and being afraid of spiders....you are in for a rough life.

I tried to intimidate a wolf spider once. It went on the attack and I picked up my skirt and jumped up onto a chair.
Wolf Spider: Actual size is determined by the aggressiveness of the wolf spider facing you."Call me Ishmael"
