I found it frustrating as there is a bit of 'Universal' to not only the mounting bracket but the wiring harness/for example I needed to remove all of the tabs except the ones in
RED--
Also the plugins used different sizes of wire with one being about 18 gauge and the other about 20 gauge. While the destructions warned that not all wires might not be used the two that were left over were labeled for Illumination and Dimming.
However as in Johnny Cash's song when he says that 'The taillights were another sight as there were two on the left and one on the right but when we pulled out the switch all three came on" when I powered the new unit up it did have power to the displays.
What I would consider a Major Fail on behalf of those who wrote the destuctions is that they failed to point out the the Solid Black Wire is the ground and it needed to have a male connector attached so it would plug in to the old system/plus the connector wasn't provided. I happened to have the right connector.
So far I can't get the buttons to work to set the clock but I do have stations set.
Now! Can anyone tell me the logic behind having a Remote for this damn thing?? Are you going to give it to whoever is in the back so they can change stations??
The one feature that I'm looking forward to trying is that it has a USB port so I can download a crap pot of music to a thumb drive for a road trip.
