Collecting comic books isn't that eccentric and I don't collect that much. The most excellent Thieves & Kings seems to be finished now and Astro City is the only title I'm hooked on right now.

I'm a gamer too, mostly boards, but love a good game of any kind. BTW, for those that remember, I'm still running for the nomination of the Republicratic Party and should finish third or even second in one more month. Slim chance I could win, but Governors Saltine and Pinkowski have run outstanding campaigns and are sitting pretty right now.

I'm an actor and I guess that's a slightly eccentric job.

My obsession with Shakespeare would definitely inhabit eccentric, but I share that one with my wife (and best her there as well) so at least I'm in good company.

Apart from straight shaving, my latest hobby is snowboarding. I've wanted to try it for many years but it's only recently that I though "f**k it" and bought a board, boots, etc and booked some lessons. I'm totally hooked now!

Other than that, stuff I've always liked/done:

    Fly fishing.
    Anything outdoors, walking, camping etc.
Scuba, PADI Rescue Diver / TDI Adv Nitrox/Deco, though only on vacations now.
    Learning to speak Slovak.
Firearms, until the British government changed the law.

Well I am mostly a musician, and as a result I have had my fair share of weird hobbies.
I juggle, along with most of the stuff that goes alongside it.
I grow mushrooms(no not that type of mushroom) Using sterilised bags of substrate and mushroom spawn or spores.
I try to build instruments. Not always successfully as I tend to lose interest when it gets near to the end!
Probably the weirdest is that I was quite an enthusiastic entomaphagist at university, and managed to eat a good variety of pretty gross stuff. My girlfriend forbids it now, but I'm sure she wouldn't mind as long as she doesn't know about it!

When I was younger I was into theoretical physics and martial arts bigtime.

These days I mainly occupy myself with computer programming, hanging out in the microsoft C++ newsgroups to help others and writing tech articles.
My other passtime is obviously razor restoration and honing of everything that is supposed to be sharp: razors, axes, cutting tools, ...

Other than that I like to read fantasy novels in english, and watching Japanese professional Sumo wrestling.
Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

    You speak/write Slovak quite well.

    BTW, "Nerozumiem..."

I enjoy woodworking, swimming, guitar, running, weightlifting, hunting, and fishing. But so far, none of those hobbies have gotten me as many strange looks as shaving with a straight !

Another actor here. When people ask what I do, a question I dislike intensely, I answer that I'm an actor kindly supported by a generous patron of the arts who lets me pretend to be a hotel night auditor.

Also I'm a pipe smoker and officer of local pipe smoking club, www.tsptc.org.
And until recently was a part-time tobacconist.

I collect (besides pipes of course) knives, hats, and walking-sticks.

My wife and I both collect books, with an emphasis on theology. Nearly all of C. S. Lewis's works including some of his obscure text books my wife picked up at a second hand store in England. All of Dickens, Austen, Brontes, etc. Needless to say the house is filled with books. Moving is always hard.
