Jimmy you won't go wrong with any magpul mag, I never cared if I could see my rounds, I counted, and was never a full auto kind of guy, and, like Mercer said, I never fully loaded one in the pouch or gun cabinet, always 2 short, never had any issues, now back in the bush in the foxhole, I might load them full just before the omelet hit the pan, but in reality, a mag with 18 or 28 will get the job done. But to answer your question, 10 will be enough, most tactical bags only have 3-5 slots for extras, and after burning 100 rounds you need to reload them so your gun cools down. Tc

I don't need no pinchy conventional weapons. Thanks to a friend on base here I've acquired a few tactical thermonuclear weapons. I figure if things get rough I can clear out a 10 mile perimeter around my property fast.
The buried land mines will take care of the rest.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

The body count, AFAIK, within a 1/2 mile of my condo is probably about a dozen. Over a ten year period, so it ain't like a weekend in Chicago, but I'd rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6. An ounce of prevention being worth a pound of cure.

Thanked: 3215John makes an excellent point, buy as many as you can carry, or maybe a few more.
Chances are, in a protracted situation you will have to be mobile. A tactical vest that carry your mags is a great option and at least, keeps all you gear in one place.
In a gunfight the person that will survive, is the one that can react the quickest and most efficiently, to ever-changing conditions… in many cases it is a matter of milliseconds. In a crisis situation you will revert to your training, if your training is weak or non-existent…
