MAde me think of this movie.
But seriously I accidentally entered the US illegally once. I was X country skiing on the St-Lawernce River and decided to head to head to an island, got there looked for a store to buy a drink and realized when I passed the US post office that maybe I wasnt in Canada anymore. Nobody stopped me and I skied back to Canada (took a long time the wind was against me and was very strong)

Education comes under provincial jurisdiction so there are variations across the country. The University/College distinction is pretty much universally as Phrank said, but just to confuse matters a bit, many universities have colleges within the uni. So you can easily be a member of a college attending a university, doing nothing that would normally be associated with what we call "Colleges". These uni colleges are kind of modeled after the traditional Oxbridge model of colleges serving as organizational units of the uni. *BUT* not all universities have colleges. There. That's that cleared up then...
In Manitoba where I grew up, it went:
Elementary school: K-6
Junior High: 7-9
High school: 10-12
Then college or uni if you chose.
It's entirely possible that has changed since the late 80s, and of course other provinces will differ.
Quebec also has a thing called CEGEP which is kind of a pre-university college thing that I don't fully understand. I think their secondary education is a year shorter to allow for a CEGEP year prior to uni. Or something like that.
It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.
