    Joel,
Yes, the proces is wet plate collodion. Wet chemisty makes the emlusion on the film and it must be exposed while still wet. I build both cameras and adapted vintage ones for several well known photographers. Sally was my first customer and I modified a camera for her. She was kind enough to send me samples of her first works with it as well as notes written on the back of several of her very famous prints. A very talented, yet controversial artist.

George Eastman is the Kodak guy. The name Kodak was chosen as it had a sharp, desisive sound and could be pronunced easily throughout the world. Mr. Eastman was a forward thinker way back in the 1890s. One of his first creations was a pre-loaded wooden camera that took 100 round 2 1/2" diameter photographs. Your bought the camer for $25, exposed al the film then returned it to Kodak where they printed your phots and returned them and the reloaded camera back to you.......in 1890. Just like a disposable film camera today .

Ragnost was a berserker in a Norse saga and a character I use to play many many years ago when I was involved in L.A.R.Ping (live action role play) also used it 30 plus years ago on cb radio picked it for my user name when I first singed up for the inter-net as a e-mail name as there were so many Malcolm’s about, used it ever since on every site I use or been on and never come across another Ragnost

Hoglahoo is an English word coined by Mark Slovacek. It is a descriptive term which can be used in place of mildly abusive slurs such as ninny, moron, dolt, greaser, and even hoser. My goal is to help him integrate the word into the English language no matter the hootinanny I become for it

Back when I was a drug addled teenager my friends began to call me Crispy Joe, as I tended to be fried quite often. My main social circle at the time, referred to as the He-Man Woman Haters by a female friend of mine, took great pleasure in playing with words and language, so eventually crispy became craspy and it's stuck with me for nigh on 20 years.

Oh wow. On further reflection, it has been at least 22 years.

Mine is a contraction of "bleeding edge", which I found very appropriate for this forum.

My boss assigned a project and asked, "Now who'se going to be the Lead Duck on this one?" I got picked. Now I'm known as the Lead Duck at the office, whatever that means.

Longer ago than I care to remember, when the internet was a new addition to my family home, I used to hit up the chatrooms late at night when my parents were asleep and I had the house to myself. I've always been a night-owl.

I chose NightLad in part to honor the time I'd usually be online, and the 'lad' because I was still in those delicate teen-years when I didn't really feel like the 'man' title applied, but I wasn't a 'boy' either, and "night-guy" just sounded creepy... so I went with Lad. It also sounded more super-hero-ish and thus appealed to my pubescent mind.

Since then the handle has stuck and I continue to use it.

    Sarty24

    Sarty is short for Sartorius

Sartorius: The name sartorius is the Latin word for "sartorial" (i.e. "to do with tailoring", in turn from sartor i.e. "tailor", in turn from sartus i.e. "patched" or "repaired", in turn from sarcio i.e. "to patch", "to repair").

I like repairing things and it has to do with anatomy...so I just shortened it

    24 is my lucky number

    Random I know...

Viola is a character in one of my favorite Shakespearean comedies, "Twelfth Night". The name has followed me for about a decade and in some parts of the world it is the only name by which I am known.
