I read this here. Texaco’s Futuristic Streamlined Doodlebug Tank Trucks | The Old Motor

Mechanically, Doodlebug bodies were built by the Heil Co. in Ft. Payne, Alabama. The trucks used Diamond T chassis, with a Hercules L-head, six-cylinder engine mounted longitudinally in the rear and a large radiator behind it. Air pressure actuated the clutch and four-speed gearbox, using the same pneumatic system as the brakes. Because the driver couldn’t hear the engine, Heil mounted a microphone in the engine compartment and a speaker in the cab so he could tell when to shift.

A microphone in the engine compartment!

Same thing Mike. She got in the shower with me once. I tossed her out quickly. Didnt want any scratches in places i could explain. Damn cat will walk in the living room soaked, dripping from head to toe. We know the grandaughter left the toilet seat up again.

All 4 kittens come running if you turn on the water in the kitchen. Stupid cats!

There was a little writeup on the gas truck in the box but it didnt gibe all those details. Makes me wonder what Heil company it is. One make my fuel trailer i drag around every day. Another makes microphones and radio gear. The wife found it at goodwill for 4 bucks. New in the box. She not a bad old lady.

Ha! Doodle Bug, the gas tanker of the future and from Hell! Fits with 2019 alright.

But, seriously, I had to reread the post twice and follow the link to be certain this wasn't yet another April Fool's joke, but that vehicle seriously resembles most commercial airport tankers...only 10x cooler. Evolution, baby. I'm sure Leno's aching to own one.

Interesting that its designers were also responsible for Texaco's logo.

That futuristic/retro look was popular back then - or so I’m told since I’m not THAT old.
