You must give them some special mojo Mike because I used those same lures and didn't land fish like THAT. Maybe it's in the technique. My son used to make faces when he was still apprenticing and especially when he first took jobs on his own. He would be stuck on something and call for help. I would walk up and do exactly the same thing but it would work for me. He was dumbfounded and I would gently say, "well son that's just because I've been doing it for over 40 years." The beauty part comes later though. He's in college 100 miles away in a much bigger city than we live in. He just got a job doing the trade I taught him. They "trained" him for one day and now he's working on his own and doing jobs I never see. You know your kids are grown when they ask YOU to hold the flashlight.
Edit: oh yeah, guess I should add a picture to that:

I learned how to use these baits, because of their ability for catching big bass.
I took everything out of the boat, as tackle and rods go.
Put my two heavy action rods, spolled with 20# test, and a bag of swimbaits and different types of hooks, back in
Fished with them for over a week, without a hit. Seen lots of big fish following them to the boat, no takers. Bound n determined, I finally figured things out,on the where n how to use these things.
The skirted jig n trailer was always the early season, big bass bait.
But if your looking to take the biggest of um, swimbaits are hands down, the best at it.
When they hit these baits, its " VERY" violent.!
There's no doubt to their intent, to kill it. These aren't a small bait, and they choke um down with ease.
