What scares me most about this electric craze is all the heavy metals used for the batteries. Where are they gonna come from (3rd world countries that use kids to mine them) and how are we going to recycle them (again third world kids melting the metals over open fires)? Unfortunately most waste is sent to countries like India and Bangladesh where child labor is still common practice.

So far it looks like Hybrids are out for me anyway. Can't find any in the size of vehicle that I want that I can get into. Probably will go for a Subaru Forester gas model in the end. Win some lose most.

The Forester is a great vehicle. Wait for the new wilderness models coming out soon.

I've heard that production of some of the new cars have ground to a halt due to the lack of 'chips'.

Looks like the "Wilderness" model is out for me. They added a turbo to the engine so that takes it off my list.

Just curious Bob, why does a turbo kill the deal?

Never saw them as reliable from the trouble people around here have had with them. Expensive to repair and/or replace too.
