What scares me most about this electric craze is all the heavy metals used for the batteries. Where are they gonna come from (3rd world countries that use kids to mine them) and how are we going to recycle them (again third world kids melting the metals over open fires)? Unfortunately most waste is sent to countries like India and Bangladesh where child labor is still common practice.

Thanked: 3228So far it looks like Hybrids are out for me anyway. Can't find any in the size of vehicle that I want that I can get into. Probably will go for a Subaru Forester gas model in the end. Win some lose most.

I've heard that production of some of the new cars have ground to a halt due to the lack of 'chips'.
Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.
