Anywhere between old soul and brutal death metal. To drop a few names: Otis Redding, Isaac Hayes, Barry White (yes ladies ), Alice in Chains, Muse, The Rapture, Depece Mode, Rammstein, Roy Ayers, Static-X (latest album gives me Yoko Ono associations though, in a negative context), Bolt Thrower, Radiohead, Kyuss, Al Green, Massive Attack, Primus, Nine Inch Nails, White/Rob Zombie, Type O Negative, Job For A Cowboy, to name just a few.

Some jazz-ish stuff is OK, don't like classical.

Sometimes people ask me if it isn't time to just put everything in a mediacenter for convenience sake, but, like straight razor shaving and putting together an espresso, it's the little ritual of diving into 400-ish cd's to come up with something to listen to. Having everything alphabetically organized means I've got all genres mixed together nicely.

I do notice that the music I play in the car affects the time it takes to get to work.

On You Tube you can find several string quartet covers of various metal songs. It is pretty amazing at how well many metal guitar riffs translate over into classical.

It would have been interesting to be able to see the audience reaction in Beethoven's time to South of Heaven or Master of Puppets.

I like to hear anything that has some rock, blues or funk in it...

Ac/Dc, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin, etc, etc...
There are also some Croatian bands among the favorites, like Psihomodo Pop, Let 3 and late Dino Dvornik, who was first Croatian funk singer...

I mostly listen to traditional Kurdish music

    Here are some samples
    YouTube - aman hei aman

    YouTube - dooram lah yaran

YouTube - Farhad SULTAN Album Palash

But I also listen to what ever is on radio..if it's any good. I also like Frankie and Dean Martin, and jazz plus a from time to time classical music and opera.

My favorite is 60's rock -- Dylan (the Beethoven of rock), The Beatles, Cosby, Stills, Nash (and sometimes Young,) The Doors, The Animals, The Rolling Stones, etc. I also like Classical -- Beethoven (the Dylan of Classical,) Handel, Mozart, Dvorak, etc. I also like traditional Irish such as the Clancy Brohters. I recently discovered a genre that I really enjoy called Celtic Rock. Check out the video of "But for Blood" on http: //www.coyoterun.com website and link to their myspace page.

If you've ever listened to a classic rock station, I'm pretty sure I own their playlist on vinyl. And more.

All the good nineties rock bands I have on CD and vinyl.

And now as I sit here, I keep playing this song over and over:

YouTube - France Gall - Celui que j'aime (1967) HQ Stéréo

I like music that sounds good.

    Another Metal Head here!

I'm not overly fond of the new wave of "kiddie punk" bands out there but I do love the classics like Led Zep, Black Sabbath (seen them live with and without Ozzy), Pink Floyd, Alice Cooper, The Eagles and Creedence Clearwater. 80 - 90's pick of the best would be Megadeth, Manowar, Foo Fighters, White/Rob Zombie (not a fan of his movies though), Marilyn Manson and Nickleback.

I also like tribal stuff, mainly Native American. Some celtic/folk Clannad and the like. Classical for me is Wagner and has to be Flight of the Valkyries, I think Vanessa Mae is cool too.

Other than that I am partial to some Ray Charles and Johnny Cash now and again.
