I'm sorry, but I'm not sure I know who you are. Can you elaborate?

    Also, Topher:

I kind of thought the same thing about truly famous people not wanting to come out and say it due to some rare anonymity, but I too think that we could do it with out it being a big deal. Its not going to make my shaves feel any different if I found out one of you was Sean Connery. Of course, I could be Sean Connery for all you know.

Google comes to help - the wikipedia entry, and of course the official website.

I see Brad Pitt and Sean Connery are already taken, so I'll be George Clooney then.
I don't check rumors about myself, but I'm pretty sure right now women's polls show me as the most handsome and desirable man.
Now, let Richard Gere reveal himself too.

I agree that it is highly unlikely that if anyone of the regulars here was truly famous that they would expose themselves... it would ruin the quality of their experience here I think.

While there may not be any "A" list celebrities here (or b, c, d, or e list celebrities for that matter) I am quite certain that there are some extremely wealthy people who are among the members here.

I'm pleased that you've never heard of me - maybe the heats off! Not got much time now - it's Judge Carter memorial day here at the institute. Nice chap, only knew him for 2 or 3 years but quite a card. We are doing our usual 'hide and seek' game in his honour - and Hoffa is being his usual pain, always trying to get us to play fair! Old habits eh... Oh better go, Elvis has got one of my W&B's and is going ATG - he can't help doing his 'jailhouse rock' thing when shaving and his hip gyrations aren't what they used to be, poor fellow. Aribaderce Roma...oops!

For an example think of Arnold Schwarzenegger, in 1970 who had heard of him? outside the world of bodybuilding, no one but within that world he was already a world champion and a huge box office draw. Making the A-list of worldwide household fame is a different game entirely.
Then there is the concept of "six degrees of separation." How many of us know someone who knows someone who is famous?

Personally I can think of several connections I've had.

I once partnered Gene Pitney in a few games of doubles pool. Does that count?
