It could... if I were to take up arms against my country on the side of the enemy. Don't assume this is some new evil of "the current regime" ... look to the items I linked. One of the nazi spies was an American citizen and was stripped of his constitutional rights.

    Sympathy for the devil much?

If the government can take your rights away from you, they aren't rights.

No. He should have been charged with a crime and tried in a court of law. Anything else is anarchy.

His was an act of war and not a matter of a felony or a misdmeaner in the normal way!

Should that have been before or after he was found guilty of conspiring to kill people? Or are we talking execution by accusation?

I think there is abundant confusion between deciding what should happen to people who do these terrible things, and making certain they actually did them.

If there is enough evidence to keep someone locked up, "getting fat" on the government dime for four or five years, surely an American court of law would agree that they should be locked up.

They are not taking them away from you in the case where you take up arms with the enemy against your own people You are throwing them out on your own.

You cannot logically fight against your own countrymen declaring "death to america!!" on the side of our enemy and then expect the same protections as the very soldiers and civilians that you have been killing.

What... happened to the WW2 Nazi collaborationists in Italy, France, the Netherlands?

Upon further thought we may be leaning towards a more socialistic, liberal type Fascism which may come into full play if Obama is elected!
"Socialistic, liberal type Fascism?" What a concept! Kind of like "liberal conservative libertarianism."

I know someone else who should be careful about throwing around the "F" word.

Perhaps you could define fascism for us.

Fascism is generally attributed to the "right wing", people with a conservative bent! but if you take a look at the two dictators that the term was originally applied to, you will find that they were more socialistic left leaning!

There is no evidence for that whatsoever.
