It doesn't really count- you aren't a reporter, and he just said if he heard Team GB, not if he read Team GB

Thanked: 1587The Brits are killing them in the velodrome.
The Aussies have had some mixed results. Our female swimmers have gone OK, the males have not really. Personally, I was very disappointed to see Grant Hackett lose the 1500m. It's kinda the Aussie equivalent of seeing Phelps lose in the final relay ... But I guess that's the Olympics for you
One thing that really gets my goat about the coverage we are getting here is how parochial it is. Sure, it's great to see the Aussie events, but as much as I love hockey and sailing and rowing, it would be kinda nice to see some of the field events for example.
Hey - that Bolt guy is fast, no?

Thanked: 1587And he still broke the record! Very laid back fellow too, didn't look nervous at all. And rather tall for a sprinter, I've been told.
But that's what I'm talking about - I want to see the freaks who can throw a javelin 90 meters, or hurl a hammer into the stratosphere, or whatever. I really don't need to see an Australian sailing crew capsizing their boat every two minutes.
Show us the stars! Whether they be Aussies or not!!

Ok I will admit to not being any sort of sports fan straight off.
That said, Phelps is amazing, if inhumanly fast. What I have really enjoyed is our results. We are third in the medal tables & having our best Olympics in a generation. Next time it well be held in London. Here's hoping we will do even better at home.
