I know how you feel, I have a diesel truck with a 35 gallon tank, the high point here was 4.95$ per gallon, the first time I spent a 100$ bill I thought I was going to cry publicly, after a while you just have to bend over and take it like a man!

I think most of that expense is taxes imposed upon you petrol. the London rate for a barrel is $57.20 and the New York exchange has a barrel at $60.55. Bloomberg.com: Energy Prices

You guys actually get your oil cheaper but your governments tax the heck out of it.

P.S. correct me if I'm wrong. I know there is no shortage of people here that are willing to do so.

Matt's right. More than half of the UK's gasoline price is due to the tax: £0.57 per liter compared to an avg of $0.28 per gallon tax in the US

I don't think I have ever seen those words posted consecutively, and pertain to me.
