I HATE YOU!, I HATE YOU!.............Only joking. Fuel at my nearest station is £0.99 per LITRE!! which equates to around $7-$8 a gallon!

just read this from yahoo news.....incredible ah?
"Exxon Mobil shattered its previous profit records by posting its biggest quarterly profit ever for the recently ended third quarter.
Exxon earned $14.83 billion for the quarter, or $2.86 a share, up a whopping 58 percent from the third quarter of 2007.
Revenue was 137.7 billion, up from $102.34 billion in the year-earlier period."

Sorry, just out. Ex rate is £1.00 = $1.57 equating to $6.99 per gallon

AND.....If I paid in $ to fill my measly 50 litre fuel tank it would cost $85.56 as I have a diesel car and diesel is currently £1.09 a litre!!!!

Thanked: 150I think most of that expense is taxes imposed upon you petrol. the London rate for a barrel is $57.20 and the New York exchange has a barrel at $60.55. Bloomberg.com: Energy Prices
You guys actually get your oil cheaper but your governments tax the heck out of it.

Matt's right. More than half of the UK's gasoline price is due to the tax: £0.57 per liter compared to an avg of $0.28 per gallon tax in the US
