Thanked: 0It must be the boundless energy that you have. You'll need it with that dog. If you thought 2-3 year old children have energy, wait for the dog. Good luck with that one.
It's easier to clean-up after and can still go on your morning jog and keep up. Did I say keep up? You might give it a try, but the dog should be good for at least 2 miles. With training (moderate exercise) they can run all day.
Me I have a dachshund. A short (pun intended) walk around the block is all they need.

dogs asses.
Oh, the dogs they had a meeting they came from near and far,
And some dogs came by motor bus and some by motor car,
On entering the meeting hall each dog could take a look,
Where he had to hang his asshole up high upon the hook.
Now when they were assembled each canine son and shire,
Some dirty bulldog son of a bitch jumped up and shouted fire,
Now all was in a panic ' twas' hell upon to look,
Each doggie grabbed at random an asshole from the hook.
The assholes were all mixed up which made each doggie sore,
To have to wear another dog's ass he'd never worn before,
And that is why to this day a dog will leave his bone,
To run and smell another dogs ass to see if it's his own!

Thanked: 10I have a yellow lab. He is a 3 1/2 year old big boy at 91 pounds but is all heart. 'Scooby' (can you tell my Grandson named him?) is my Service Dog. When he is 'dressed' in harness, he is Mr. Professional but when not wearing it, he is nutso and runs in the yard with his butt about 4 inches off the ground.
I acquired him through my dog trainer, I had a trainer but no dog. After months of looking, my trainer found him. His owners were divorcing and couldn't take him, so he needed to be re-homed. His former owner came over to visit him twice after I took him in and that was so sad. I am truly blessed to have such a fine dog.
He is my 'balance' and 'counter-balance'. Scooby can also pick a dime up off of a hard floor and put it into my hand. When the Grandkids are here and drop their toys, Scooby picks them up and takes them to the kids. Now if I could only train him to sort them and to put them where they belong

I have a female Jack Russell terrier named Sally. Every few nights
I have to go into the woods behind the house and get her off
a possum. If the possum is on the ground she won't hesitate
to tangle with it. She also hates rats and mice and will kill either
at the drop of a hat. Other wise she is a friendly little dog
and she loves everyone she meets.
Usually on the weekend during the winter we take a walk through
the woods. It's great living in a place where I can do this by
simply walking out my backdoor.
