Don't have a dog yet, but I'm looking to adopt one from the local shelter. A dog breeder buddy of mine says mutts are considerably better because they don't have the brains bred out of them and a rescued dog is going to be far more faithful to you than any purebreed.

Thanked: 0Well his name is Toby.. He is about one and a half years old. He is my souvineer of Herrin Illinois. Just the local stray and we are happy to have each other. When I first came to him last july, he had hook worms, pin worms and a very bad bacteriacal infection. We have recovered from that and have been very good friends since. I am a dog person and have had a dog at all tiiimes throughout my life. Toby is the latest, but not the last. I love him to death and he loves me too. One of lifes true rewards.

We have always had large dogs, but when our German Short Hair passed away at 15 two years ago we decided to go the small dog route. We got a Boston, she is quite some thing and she dosn't know she's a small dog.

Thanked: 8We've got a Jack Russell. The batteries are as good and strong as they day we got her. She's 8 now and not slowing down one bit. Called "Bingo" btw.
We live in the country and she's great for keeping rabbits away.

Dog are great ,we have two in our family, they were brought up on a farm but are now adjusting to surburban life quite well ,we are on 1 1/2 acres here now. the oldest is Mango, named because that is what we grew, got at the local markets ,free to good home, covered in fleas and full of worms the good home was right the free bit was streaching it ,what with snake bites etc, great dog and very smart ,the other is Panda because its black and white it thinks its great but has absolutly no BRAINS,but their well loved members of the family and we wouldn`t swap them for quids
Kind regards Peter

Thanked: 0I have a mutt named Buddy. He is part Lab and part something else. He looks just like a lab except he is fully grown and only weighs about 60 pounds. He is really great with my son who abuses the dog constantly. Fortunately Buddy is really laid back and just takes it.
