About her tattoos, do they look so dark because they're new and haven't healed yet? Is that the colour they will always be?

I'm thinking that if they were light multicoloured stars they wouldn't look too bad...

That thread ought to be devoted to Gordon Brown. He hasn't got as many negatives as John Major had but he is rapidly catching up.

Yes, a fresh tattoo will always look more prominent. Not only in that the color is close to the top of the skin at first but there is the swelling from the abrasion, particularly on a sensitive area such as the face.

You're acting as if we're disagreeing on this. We're not. It was her choice. But regardless of her free will I still the the father was either an idiot or a jerk for leaving her alone.

If if I'd say to my kids don't do it you're an idiot I'd allow them to do it if they really wanted to. But I WOULD stick around.

Regardless of her choice her father (in my opinion) should have stuck around for the procedure.
