    Default Man.... That sucks

Great little 3rd of July for me. I got up, friends were over for a big breakfast, things were going great. I live in charlotte NC, but this summer I took a job as a part of my graduate program in Utah. Anyway, right when I was making breakfast for everybody I got a call from my wife's dad... Long story short, someone robbed our apartment in NC and took everything that we had spent years putting together as poor students with a new little boy. They took everything, even our mattresses and our couches, even worthless wall paintings. Ever get that empty pit in your stomach... As we remember more and more things we had we find out that more and more is gone. Still don't know if my razor collection was discovered, gotta ask my father in law about that, but it would pale in comparison to the other things that can't be replaced. Anyway, if this has ever happened to you, I feel your pain. Oh well, still have everything that matters. Just getting it off my chest.

    Sorry to hear!
Think the worst feeling is that someone unknown has messed with your stuff.
Will take a while feeling at home again.

That sucks, man. I've hated July 3rd most of my life. 30 years ago today, July 3rd 1979, I fell under the bush hog my mother and I were using to clear a field behind our house. For those who don't know, a bush hog is a big mower you pull behind your tractor. It's great for mowing, clearing fields, and mulching 8 yr old boys. I lost most of my left ulna, 3 of my carpal bones, and broke my radius in a few places. I'd post a picture, but mods on forums usually get bitter about it. I hope you get your stuff back, and regain some of your peace of mind.

I'm not sure if you meant it, but this reminds me of the Snapple commercial

Man, sorry to hear about your stuff. I know what it's like, and it sucks the big one.

I'm sorry to hear that, and no doubt this is a great
misfortune. However, this is a perfect opportunity
to count yourself lucky that it was only stuff that
was lost (well, for some value of `lost' as `stuff'
    is transient anyways).
