BTW, I have nothing against anyone here. I just like a great conversation regardless of where it leads. In fact, this is really the only place I know where I can talk intelligently with other people (kinda sad really - I'd rather that we could all meet in person at a pub. For what would I apologize? I believe was acting in your interest by attempting to steer your thread back onto your topic. However Mark, as your happiness is most certainly very high on my list of priorities, if you say that an apology from me would render you sanguine well sir, by all means I am truly sorry for anything you would like to hold me responsible. I have very broad shoulders and can carry more guilt than any ten mere mortals.

Besides, even it that would not be possible, with a full majority backing from the public, a new constitution could be drafted. Remember: this is assuming a majority backing by the entire population.

After all, that would not be different from what the founding fathers did to get from under the British yoke.

I suppose you are correct, Bruno. When the people of the U.S. have finally and completely given up all reason, and have gone completely insane, what you are describing just may come to pass - and what a shame it would be.

And the 1/3 who were against would also have to be unwilling to die for their beliefs.

I think we just need to vote California off the island. This would be a much better place without all the fruits and nuts out there.

I bet they say the same thing about Texas or some of the other southern states. It's natural to want to ignore / discard / get rid of people who don't agree with you.

But then what do you do with all the holes in the ground? Grand canyon 2? Perhaps buy property on state lines in the hope that they become seaside property? And where'd you leave all the soil?
