The broadsheet that broke the story in the UK (the Guardian) is probably the biggest supporter of the notion of man-made climate change in the British media. It's mouthpiece, the journalist George Monbiot, has himself verified that the leaks are real, but they need qualifying.

Although I lean towards the theory of man-made climate change, it also would not surprise me in the least that there might be some scientists who have an inherent interest in spinning it to their advantage.

You find me any organisation (including SRP) where that doesn't happen!

The only thing that one can say with any certainty is that this subject polarises opinion. Every column inch that gets written is slanted one way or the other.

I've reviewed some of these reports and general findings posted on the site that was hacked.

From the information posted, I see a trend of warming. Also, I see a trend that this warming is not initiated by man. Of course I think man does contribute to this warming with the burning of fossil fuels and such ... but not to the level in which the Copenhagen treaty (or whatever they are called) would want us all to believe.

After reviewing this information, I would side with the hackers posting bonafide information/documents.

It's plainly a conspiracy between scientists. There is no real evidence of global warming.
And of course, there is no real evidence that smoking causes cancer. I know this because the tobacco industry had scientists say it doesn't.

And that claim about asbestos causing lung cancer-more baloney. Just a bunch of trial attorneys trying to put "Big Business" out of business.

Don't even get me started about the hype over lead paint...

Exactly what I'm trying to say. It's all a big hoax! The scientists are in cahoots with Al Gore and the military industrial complex. Only an idiot isn't aware of the global conspiracy on behalf of scientists hell-bent on increasing taxes and eliminating jobs. They may claim be be scientists. But they're not.

I am sorry to be in an opposition again, but that is off topic, too. This topic is about suspicion of ethically questionable practices of some scientists involved in climate research who allegedly use non-scientific methods to propel forward their science and agenda. It has nothing to do with the actual state of our climate.

I hope I have it politically correct.
