Try quoting Paul in Romans where he says 'you oh man that judgest'..... etc, Not that I take offense to your reference to faith without works, I don't. By their fruits ye shall know them. If it is saving faith it is conferred by God and the recipient should become 'a new creation in Christ' ..... behold old things pass away and all things become new.' So if that doesn't happen can we assume it was a spurious faith or that 'it' doesn't really 'work' ?
So we have that but as the Presbyterian minister Donald Gray Barnhouse preached,"If you want to know what a born again Christian is capable of doing read the epistles and see what he is told not to do. It says let him who stole steal no more, lie not to one another seeing that you have put off the old man." It isn't a simple thing to judge faith based on works. If the whole thing is true we will all have to answer for our works or the lack of them. Meanwhile I tend to taking my own inventory and leave it to others to tend to theirs.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

You can always tell when a thread is heading in a better direction when Tigger gets quoted.
