Ahh, if only that were true it'd be a really sweet story.
Big government - once a small government, many people's dream of success and prosperity come to fruition due to inspiration and perspiration in an environment of representation, and perpetuated by people's free choice to vote what laws and taxes go into play because there is a perceived need, want, and/or benefit to those laws and taxes.
We can do this all day if you'd like. I said upthread that I admit that there are good and bad companies, as well as good and bad citizens and government programs.

Thanked: 369Bad companies? You mean unethical or poorly run? Those only continue to operate via statist governments through public plunder, or, by the consent of their customers, either informed or uninformed (caveat emptor).
"Big government - once a small government, (bloated by) many people's dream of success and prosperity (at others expense) come to fruition due to inspiration and perspiration in an environment of (reckless) representation, and perpetuated by people's free choice to vote what laws and taxes go into play because there is a perceived need, want, and/or benefit to those laws and taxes (regardless of it's effect on the health of a nation as a whole)."Last edited by honedright; 01-21-2010 at 02:29 PM.

Well the unethical companies were just a small portion. I've no interest in looking up the numbers, but I'd guess that the majority of corporations that I consider "big business" are generations removed from the small business owners who actually started them. They also have the responsibility to their consumers, especially if they are a publicly-traded company. Caveat venditor.
Don't mistake my position on health care with being in favor of big government because I'm generally against both bigs being discussed. Big business supports big government who in turn supports big business, and on and on.
EDIT: Look, I can post the same red marks in your definition of "big business". Big business has been bloated at others' expense, which leads to recklessness and not caring about the effect on the health of a nation as a whole. That's exactly what I was pointing out by linking to the various corporate scandals of recent years! I didn't really think you'd take me up on doing this all day...Last edited by commiecat; 01-21-2010 at 02:38 PM.

The only problem with Scott Brown is that he is one of the people responsible for bringing the current health care system to the State of Massachusetts.
Which is similar to Obama's plan.
