Thanked: 363Name calling? - Tsk Tsk, very lowbrow.
NYCShaver... I duhno, I was asking myself the very same question, perhaps lunacy, fantascism? Downright derrangement of facts and factual events. The need to villify in order to exornerate mistakes of his own parties beliefs? Could be a myriad of reasons, but I doubt "reason," had anything to do with it lol
christ almighty please help us here.lol
59Caddy, great name you would have thrived in the McCarthy era....lol
Henry Ford lol... great guy...glad he was around, I mean seriously what other American could have won the German Golden Cross from Hitler? lol
I got to remind myself to stay out of politiking
good times
David
I'd love to know.
I think I only implied lunacy never called you a lunatic.... some might but I didn't.
Caddy with regards to explaining how America isn't communistic or going there, there's an old saying "Never wrestle with a pig; you both get dirty and the pig likes it" lol
this thread has derailed lol
Cheers

I think we agree here. My point is that is not the color of your ideology, but any ideology taken to extremes does have a great change of becoming this kind of sad success. Mao, Hitler and Stalin weren't the only ones although they got the biggest score. Amin, Pinochet and Franco were some minor dictators with a bad reputation.
Now honestly i do not know if there's ever been 100 million victims in communist persecutions in Europe. I know only about my own country (which is only a minor part of Europe of course). In our civil war 1918 about 5000 white army soldiers/civilians died in a war against the reds who tried to make this a socialistic country. Of those 5000 about 25% died in front of the red firing squad. 30000 reds died, and of those about 50% died after the war in a prison camps. This was just off topic.'That is what i do. Thanked: 102Random thoughts
Random Thoughts:
Health Care - I have not been able to find anything in the Constitution that gives the government any right to regulate health care. I always thought that was a patient/doctor thing.
The Kennedy Senate "seat". - I have never understood how they could hold so much power. Going back to the days of Joe Kennedy, they have been in bed with organized crime and everyone else. Teddy wanted to take guns away from the people yet he lived in an armed compound.
I am not a betting man but I think Scott Brown would have a better chance of getting a woman across a bridge in his truck than Ted would have in an Oldsmobile.
Obama - He lost me when Rev. Wright got on TV and condemed this country. Obama who had attended his church for twenty years claims he never heard anything like that. I attended a Church for twenty years, slept thru a lot of the sermons, (worked the night shift back then) and I can tell you with 99 percent accuracy how my pastor felt about any topic.
Voter Qualifications: I am torn on this issue. I am ultimately for the freedom of the individual. It is one of the downsides of democracy that allows people who contribute nothing to have a say in the political process. In a way it seems reasonable that there should be requirements to vote. I have heard it put, "One should wash his hands before he is allowed to eat". I see no way to determine what the test should be to vote. It is probably best to allow all "Citizens" the right to vote. I have a friend who says not to worry about it, That there are about the same number of Klansmen as there are black panthers so they cancel out each others vote. I hope that one day we will all be able to put aside differences of race, politics, religion. A lot of good men died for us to enjoy the freedom that we have. Let's not misuse it.
The Clinton's - I am still mad about the firing of the staff of the White House Travel Office with no good reason. Well thats what you get when you elect a draft dogging, dope smoking, get down tonight prez.
Fear not the Prince of Fools
Fear those that made him Prince.
That's all - got to go watch the State of the Union Address.
