John McCain is not a conservative, he is 100% progressive. We all know that, and he is one that we would like purged from the Republican party.
Here is the difference between the parties. Right now Democrats will vote anyone into office that has a D after their name. I know a lot of Republicans that do the same thing, but a lot don't. In fact, enough don't that we loose elections because of it.
And that is why we are tired of having to pick lessers of two evils. Enough! We want candidates that reflect the values of our party. Now you may not agree with those values. That's Ok. Healthy debate. But when someone interlopes on a party just to get elected, it is the worst of all worlds. That is why we are going to purge progressives from the Republican party.
I would strongly recommend the Democratic party to do the same. I disagree with their platform. But what I discovered is that I have the problem with the progressives in the Democratic party, and not the Democratic party.
By giving progressives no home to hide in, they would have to form their own Progressive party. Then, I would like them to tell everyone exactly what they will do to the country and how they will do it. I am willing to bet not one will get elected to city dog catcher.

Someone said, “Liberalism is totalitarianism with a human face”, evidently do as I say, not as I do...rantings and let me tell you how I'll spend your money themes aren't real marketable concepts. Imagine that!
Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.

October 10th, 2002 on the Senate floor. Senator McCain objected to Senator Dayton's request for an extra 30 seconds to finish his comments. I believe Dayton was speaking against giving Bush authorization to go to war with Iraq.
From the C-SPAN archives:
C-SPAN Video Library Blog
During this session, Senator John McCain (R-AZ) twice objected to requests from other senators (Mark Dayton D-MN and Robert Byrd D-WV) to extend their allotted speaking times.
I don't think it's an issue, really. Maybe they were ordered to keep speakers under strict time constraints.

That is true. Democrats put a Republican into office. And I tell you, if in my district the Democrat was more conservative than my choice for a Republican, I would vote them in as well.
At one time, liberals were not what you have today. They were for liberty, hence liberals. This became quite popular. The progressives, which were socialists co-opted the term and took it over. The liberals you know and love today are the progressives. These are you Rieds, Pilosis, Frankens - the ones you desribed as "'the scum that never tires trying to destroy america'.
Progressives = Marx, Kant, Alinsky etc.
So you can see their philosophy, here are the ten points of the communism.
- Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes.
- A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
- Abolition of all rights of inheritance.
- Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.
- Centralization of credit in the banks of the state, by means of a national bank with state capital and an exclusive monopoly.
- Centralization of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the state.
- Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the state; the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.
- Equal obligation of all to work. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.
- Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of all the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the populace over the country.
- Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, etc.
