Thanked: 150CNN & MSNBC are a joke
Cartoon network crushed both of these "trusted" and "unbiased" liberal agenda pushing media outlets in the ratings. HOW SAD! More people wanted to watch Sponge Bob Square Pants than them.
The horrible, despicable, propaganda driven Fox News was #2.
I guess the people just trust Fox News.
CNN, MSNBC, their days are numbered.
Cartoon Network beats CNN, MSNBC « Don Surber
Cable Network Rankings: FNC #2, MSNBC #26, CNN #32, HLN #37 in Prime - mediabistro.com: TVNewser

Thanked: 530Just because I'm "that guy"
Spongebob Squarepants doesn't air on Cartoon Network... Only on Nickelodeon or other channels that paid for rights to it... So, really, you can't even count Spongebob's childhood cults for this boom in ratings...
Just figured I'd throw that out

The kids market is a lot bigger - plus, CN airs "adult" cartoons for Man-boys around midnight.
The news sources only target adults and get big bumps when something important/shocking happens. Also, more and more folks are going online for news. MSNBC and Fox are also cutting the demo further by catering to partisan topics, so they lose out on the other halves.
Moral of the story: kids are where the money is.

Shocker. It's a good thing that historically, higher ratings also equates to higher quality in the field of TV and radio.
Now if Fox could just make cartoon versions of Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly, they'd be unstoppable!
