There is absolutely no mention whatsoever of "sin", in all of Genesis 3. Not an allusion, not a hint, not even a whiff. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zero. It's simply not there.

"Knowledge", however, is a different kettle-of-fish. In this case, it was of the most basic kind: knowledge of one's self -- of a "self" which was separate and different; a "self" with external needs and status.

Self-awareness. It sure makes things difficult; but it's not a sin.
