I understand that not everyone here holds the same religious beliefs but I am going to say this from my Christian perspective and personal experience on the mission field. It has been recommended that you try and communicate with it. Personally I would not recommend that. It will be an invitation. "Resist the devil and he will flee from you." (sorry i can't remember bible verse, but it's true). There are alot of views on spirits being connected to an object....i have never observed this in the scriptures. I personally do not believe human souls or spirits remain (maybe they do but scriptures do not lead me to believe this). I do believe demonic spirits seek to destroy us and torment us. They hate us. As I said above I have been on the mission field in various places throughout the world and have witnessed demonic possession. It is a very serious thing and if you do not know Christ you have no authority over the spirit. (I am not saying you are possessed but I am sure that is exactly the intention and the goal).

There could be some other "logical" or "practical" reason for what you are experiencing but if it is spiritual in nature be cautious in how you interact with it and I would recommend speaking with someone who has experience with this type of thing before you take advice from a bunch of people who never have. I think everyone here has good intentions but that doesn't make any of their advice "wise" and that includes me too.

If there is evil there must be good. God is good and he has conquered sin and death and the devil through his Son, Jesus Christ. He has given Him to the whole world.

Otoh, the God you believe in might very well not exist, or at least not as you think. And the Bible was written by man, translated by man, and heavily edited by man. I would not take it as the literal word of God.

But regardless of that, you are right in one regard: if it is indeed a genuine haunting (or however we call it) that it is best to talk to some professionals first and not do anything yourself. If my central heating is doing weird things (which reminds me, I need to call the man for the yearly checkup...) I don't go poking and prodding at it myself I may think I am doing something sensible and blow up my house. I also hate it when people try to 'fix' their computer before calling me, because invariably they've made it worse.

I also repeat that if you are interested in solving the problem, you should also do your best to eliminate all rational possibilities. Do some googling to see what skeptics are saying, hide a couple of nanny cams, check for faulty wiring or drafts, etc. Especially with things moving on their own, I bet that you find a logical explanation (like someone pranking you), OR you will make a fortune selling the worlds first high quality footage of paranormal movement.

You can verify that easily with any audio recorder and a microphone
That'll show conclusively if the voices are in your head or not.

Once my brother and I pranked my uncle with an intercom / baby monitor hidden inside a lego construction... it was childish, but then again we were children

Just wanted to clarify that my comments were not directed at anybody and I wasn't trying to say that there were no Christians on this thread. I was just trying to offer another perspective. Take it or leave it. Hope you're all doing well.

I am a pretty big skeptic, but I love hearing about things like this, because I would love to so firmly believe in it! (especially the floating silverware, I'm sure you experienced that, but I can't be 100% since you are someone I don't know, on the internet)

Having said that, I would also lean towards it being demonic.

I do believe that scriptures from historically vouch-able holy texts (the Christian bible, from my perspective) does give some insight into these possibilities. Supernatural events require supernatural reasons, and if the only thing we have to try to explain them with is science, the study of natural world, we will fall short. Religious texts, while true or not, offer the only possible insight we could ever have. And I don't know of many that talk about human spirits in this world. Demons on the other hand...

If it were me, I would call a priest. I would DEFINITELY try to record it if I had NEVER seen Paranormal Activity!

What would REALLY be of interest is this: for something physical to move, there has to be physical interaction. 'something' physical has to counteract gravity and/or friction. if that something is not one of the 4 laws we know, then there has to be something else.

Somehow, this could never be established as soon as a scientist and a camera are brought to the site. So imo this is all in the mind (divine, demonic or just psychiatric) most likely. If it is not and it is truly physical, then there is at least one more physical power waiting for us to be discovered. Telekinesis would be a very interesting skill to have.
