Default Poll; Do You Still Have A Land Line ?

I guess I am an anachronism since I've never owned a cellular phone. At least not yet. For those who do use cell phones have you kept your land line as well ? Many of my friends have not. Just curious.

My landline was an unnecessary expense. It went away.

*There used to be something here about the poll not existing... I didn't want hoglahoo's post to not make sense...*
**That doesn't infer that his posts usually make sense.**

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

if he didn't create it, how did I vote already?

special note: I had a cell phone before I had a land line, then I had both, now just the land line

edit: weird, Jimmy must have been screwing with the poll. It tells me I already voted and can't vote again, but my vote isn't showing. Maybe he should start over

I had a land line up until about a year and a half ago, when I moved to my current location. The cost of living is higher here than my previous town, so a land line is just an added expence that I don't really need. When I did have a land line, I only used it to call a few people, who are now long distance, since the move. Always used the cell phone for everyone else anyway, so now I just use the cell for everyone.

I edited the options to add "never had a cell phone". Maybe you voted at that point. I don't know how to start over so if you have a dual account use your other screen name.

Haven't had a landline in 10 years- there's no need, even with basic cell plans. I can make free calls through Gmail 24 hours a day if I wanted to. The cell is just so convenient nowadays for so many things- especially emergencies.

Got rid of the land line...no sense paying for something I don't need. And besides..I could use that money to buy more razors...lol.

    25...got a cell when I turned 16.

I've never had a landline...and never missed one either. Telemarketers never came into the picture either until I started a business. Always the same source...ought to be illegal...I digress.

    You won't miss it.

Not only can you call through Gmail there are programs like Skype out there as well. Free, International, next best thing to face-to-face.
