So if you have a 'bleh' day, you have to take up a holiday, or take back some flex time and start late.

I have annual leave and comp. time available also. Usually the difference is the amount of time required to request the time off. Annual and Comp require more advance notice. Sometimes a "sick day" is all you can do.

A day off is to be had by calling in with your normal voice and saying you're taking a personal day. Now there is no guilt for faking a sick day.

Back at my last job we had 5 personal days we could use with no notice at all. I would have used one today.

YES!!!!! I left my last job and returned over 2200 hours of sick leave. I worked 2080 hours a year so I gave them back a years salary. The folks that burn their sick leave use their "compensation package" to their benefit. I guess that makes us the idiots.

Well, if it is an accepted part of your compensation, then you should just use them.
