I like the smell of the crisp and dry fall air. Once the humidity breaks in Toronto, and the temp. drops....it's lovely. I wait for that "clean" smell all year. It's the time of year when you pop on your peacoat and hat, and wander outside for a little walk and a stogie or pipe.
Another great smell of fall/atumn, is that first stew. You come home, walk into the house, and someone has a nice beef stew on the stove, teeming with bay leaf and hearty herbs. That's a good smell!
