Headed West on IH20 this morning. It was rather cool at 37°F and no wind to speak of. Every water hole had steam coming off it. This fog bank was coming off the Brazos River just West of Weatherford, TX.

    I was multi-tasking at 70MPH.......

Last Sat was cloudy, windy and cool. Thought this looked neat.

THAT is a LOT of BULL. Fine looking example of a Longhorn bull. I figure he's between 1800 and 2K lbs.

    With one of his sweeties.

I've driven stalk-cutters (AKA row-binders, AKA "IH" products) that would run better than that damn FORD.

It will run fast enough to splatter grasshoppers by the millions.

    A few from today.

    Lonely chimney, lost its house.

Old MERCHANTS FAST MOTOR FREIGHT tractor. Probably bought when Merchants went under in the late 80's Tag on it is 1997.
Been there a while and shows it with that brier growing out the radiator shell.

    Gettin stuff dusty.

Hannibal, TX Masonic Lodge. Lodge is still active.

Skinny blue highways and big country.

Hannibal, TX Methodist Church. It's a ways off the beaten path.

    And cemetery.

Don't know about the lizards but I bet that sumbitch has more than few wasp nests about it.

Funny thing about the name of that company was that its trucks like that one weren't very fast. In all my years of blasting across Texas, the ONLY times I was ever passed by
Merchant's truck was when I was parked.

Merchant's was a Texas company and didn't run anywhere but Texas, so I doubt very many folks here have ever heard of 'em. They used to have a bunch of those old things clattering all over the Lone Star.

That brier is actually growing through the "grill-denser". That is the A/C condenser. Those old trucks were the BOTTOM of the line KW's. Single headlights and not much creature comforts. If you look close you can see there Is room for two headlights on either side. That one is probably an early 70's model with a 290 Cummins engine and 10 spd Road Ranger tranny.

Probably made a piss poor winch truck too. LOL

Fence indicates it's on private property. Why would someone buy that heap just to park it for 15 years?
