An owl is preferable to a buzzard coming through your windshield and exploding all over your home away from home. Happened to a buddy of mine when one went through the RH windshield in his old cab-over Pete.

STENCH doesn't even begin to describe that mess........

Posting this little vid for Heelerau. He was having a bit of difficulty getting it to load so I put in my PB stuff and here it is.

Gordon's getting ready to repel the zombie invasion.

I was going to LIKE this post but how could I like something that I would hate so much.

The owl didn't come through the windshield. I think he was coming off the wall pictured in the second picture of my previous post and going for something to eat in the median. I just caught about a flap and a half of his wings out of the corner of my eye before I closed them and braced for the impact. He belly flopped the window and left a pattern of feather dust in a perfect print. A pretty good size bird as the wing tips went from on my hood to over the roof of my Dodge 3/4 ton. The window survived in one piece.

I originally passed over the following picture because the object I was trying to get is the blue and yellow spot over the hood of the silver car. It is an old jet fighter parked at the end of a local airport runway. After looking at it again I sort of like the way that the mirror reflects the cars that have passed me already etc.

The morning show was really nice but the road I was on this morning wasn't conducive to stopping for a pic while the best part of the show was on. I found a side road and caught the tail end of the sunrise.

Old cemetery on the side of a back road. Counted 20 graves. None newer than the 30's.

Times were hard on kids back then and probably harder on parents.

Then this. Both on the same day. Makes me wonder if it was a house fire or a wagon wreck. Sad however it happened.

"Killed by lightning while visiting the sick." Greaved by his mother. He was a Mason.

    Mostly Garrets buried there.

Some days you're the bug, other days you're the bumper. 70-75mph is more than they can stand it appears.

Killed a LOT of grasshoppers the last few days.

Probably need to wash the bug remains off evaporator coil so the radiator can get some air.

No shortage of fish bait out there, but I'm doing my best to create one.

The dates on the couple and the child pretty much coincide with the scarlet fever pandemic of the time, wiped out entire towns, much like the influenza did about 10 yrs later.

May they both rest in peace!

When I have found a set of scales with initials on them I have wondered what the history is.

    Wullie

Which is worse: Grasshoppers or Lovebugs?

I can remember cars overheating from the Lovebugs, hence the screens which seemed to mandatory in the spring of South Texas.

Some shots across the St. Croix river from the Minnesota side. This stop is about 20 miles north of the Twin Cities.

    Enjoy
