    Sturgeon methinks.

EDIT: and they are pretty weird.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

    Carl,

If you've already googled it, you probably already know. But, that's where they get caviar. They are truly a weird fish, unchanged for years. They're in the river systems, but are in the ocean as well. The meat from them is awesome, really firm, white meat. They're like a shark, have no bones. Once you skin them, good knife and pliers needed, you can cut them into steaks and only the cartilage back bone thing is left. They live over a hundred years and get huge. I'm really surprised there isn't a species of them in Australia, I mean, a prehistoric fish, unchanged by time, seems to meet the criteria for a creature in your land.

I went on an all day journey today!! Rode in a Fish and Game truck to deliver 100k little salmon to the harbor in Santa Cruz CA. I took a lot of pictures, so this first bunch I dedicated to animals. We went down the East side of San Francisco Bay, cut across the hills to Santa Cruz, then on the way back, inland over the hills to the valley of Central California. In this bunch there are cows in the hills by San Jose, a chick on the beach, some Elk, a roadrunner and a beast.

Yes. It's marked Harbor Patrol on the side. With two, two hundred and fifty horse outboards on it, I think it qualifies as a beast! It can't be more than a 20 foot boat, rigid hull inflatable, that things gotta just be a hoot!!

    Default Salmon

Here's the little fishies being dumped into a holding pen. Not the most exciting thing, but it is what it is. I don't think the fish liked being changed from a life in fresh water to being dumped into salt water, at least, they didn't act like they liked it.
