I do not think just giving money out would fix it. Might make some people happy but the issue would still be there. So, we have affirmative action and such, which apparently does not really help or has been implemented poorly. Both white and blacks resent such programs. Whites because they feel they were cheated if someone of color gets a job. Blacks because they have to live with the fact that they might not have really earned the job. I think it is just going to take many generations for those wounds to heal.
From their stillness came their non-action...Doing-nothing was accompanied by the feeling of satisfaction, anxieties and troubles find no place

@ Earcutter, Why dont you dig up all of those who are due compensation, and then you can dig up those dead that owe them and then you can force the dead wrongdoers to do the right thing. Be sure to dig up the Free blacks that owned slaves too. Be sure to dig up the blacks in Africa that sold them to the slave ships. As a matter of fact, where does it end, every race, creed, color, religion has been conquered, bought, enslaved and sold at one time or another without exception throughout history. Should I write myself a check while I am at it and give me a few and I will tell you how much you owe me. It is impossible to make all of the wrongs in the world right. Putting a stop to the BS is the best you can do. All else is either wishful thinking or an act of self righteousness.
Study the raids of your beloved Jayhwakers who raided Missouri farms, stole slaves from their owners only to sell them elsewhere.
There is a rule I live by, it can be found in the Bible, it is in the book of Romans in the New Testament, 3rd chapter, 8th verse, "Owe no man nothing, except the debt of love.'. That is the only thing I owe to anybody.

Though I disagree with you... with you being on the wrong side of the river and all LOL
, I'll give you a pass!
Bahahahaa... just joking! But seriously - thanks for answering my question! For real.
One of the greatest things about America is that your family's past doesn't define you! You are free to be who you wish, and make what you deserve. I get that, and I LOVE that about America. I guarantee you that if everyone felt as you did about owing others your love, this conversation would be moot.
Thanks again.David

It has been my experience that he will introduce himself when and as he sees fit. No Bible thumpin' here. But the pistols are clean and he dont mind a little honest help.

This has nothing to do with what political party he belongs to. It has nothing to do with where he lives. It has to do with simple racism, which is unfortunately prevalant across all political, religious, geographical and racial lines. The more we try to combat racism by trying to level the playing field, the worse it gets. There's no easy answer as to how to get rid of it, in fact I don't think you can. All that we can do is to silence(not ignore) the hate by not supporting it and using our first ammendment rights, as they're using theirs, to drown out the hate and preach the true brotherhood of man.

Ok - not to derail your thread MLA (not that you would care), but I got to tell you... I LOVE Missouri.
I recall driving my mother in law to Branson via Missouri, and way off in the distance seeing a billboard that read:
BUY HOME INSURANCE
We couldn't make out the picture for a while, but the shock on her face as it came into focus was priceless! It was an image of a handgun lol!! Under that was something, something pawn shop.
It made my lousy day driving her there!
