no worries man I didn't take it that way. I too don't take shots I don't think I can make clean kill. honestly my two misses were the first I have missed in 12 years! npw with my bow that's another beast entirely lol I have missed every animal I have drawn on :| but at the range I'm a stone cold killer..... Mist be a mental thing as archery hunting is new to me.

Nice buck by the way! What part of PA was that taken in?

central pa at my grandparents farm up on the mountain above the fields. and ive missed a doe at 15 yrds with a bow i have no room to say anything about that bows are harder than he... to hit a animal cleanly.

ah nice ya I was born and raised in Beaver county over by the Ohio border. Did most of my hunting in Burgettstown washington county and allegheny county. Bows are a challenge for sure! my father in-law uses traditional long and recurve....but he is a tougher man than me

ill stick to my 76 sportsman 30-06 the model before yours same caliber 180 grain ballistic silver tips, and my 50 cal flintlock. for bear i hve a old british lee enfield 303 and its perfect for dragging thru the brush and keeping my good gun looking half decent.

Great thread alb1981. This is my first season hunting with a bow. So far I've only made it out the woods twice. First outing I saw a doe I had no chance on any way, but the next time I saw no deer at all. It's hard for me to hunt because it's through my friends or uncle's good graces to take me to the property they have permission to hunt on. Otherwise I'd be out three times a week. Every Thanksgiving week I head on down to the mountains of Bath County Virginia to my uncle's Hunting camp for rifle season, and I'm very much looking forward to it. I'm heading out tomorrow for a bow hunt, and with God willing, I'll have some story to share here then. Good Luck to all of SRP's hunters this season.-J

Good Luck J! My next hunt isnt until feb if I get drawn. It will be for archery Javelina...by far the most physically demanding hunt I do every year. There will be plenty of beer and whisky to wash the pain away

can wait to hear your stories!

I hope more people will post their Hunting/Fishing/Camping stories on here
